OK,
To expand on a excellent question.

What are the good books on CNC? What are the must have books on
machining in general? Being a programmer type I see it as understanding
the lingo and then understanding the problem you are going to solve.

What books have the groupies found well written? Which are to be
avoided? Most of the one's the local comm coll lib had were rather
dated, and the chain book stores, forget it.
