If you are going to use Mach1 and Windows XP be aware that Windows XP will
not allow you to assign an I/O range that Mach1 supports to you added PCI
parallel card. You can assign it to any logical device LPT2, 3, 4 whatever,
BUT, you cannot reassign the I/O addresses to a range that Mach1 supports.
I went through two manufactureers? and talked to a tech support guy at the
second one who comfirmed that it is a "feature" of XP's plug and play. If
you are buying the card to avoid using the motherboard port don't bother
unless someone has a work around or a different approach.

breakout board would go between your computer and your stepper drives. You
plug your parallel cable into the breakout board...the breakout board
directs the Step/Direction and relay activation signals out and any limit
switch inputs in to the PC.
