I know what your talking about..... I think most fellows should realize
that you would probably "prefer" to disengage the motors from the CNC
machine involved, and just manually Drag a stylus around while the code
is being written rather than "Drive" it..

The software I had written to do this, was because I wanted to build one
of these for simple profile copying: http://skalarcnc.netfirms.com/

I still want one someday. I think the software had 4 axis capability in
case you could build the device necessary, and as I recall, you could
initiate an I/O line to "mark" a spot, or allow it to routinely place
"marks" as you went... I kindof forgot. It is a windows GUI, But only
runs on Win98 ??

It placed X,Y,Z,A and locations on a single line at a time. Let me know
if you would like to mess with it.

I know that Indexer LPT also can Record locations if you want to "Drive"
the machine around......
