Hi Mina;

This is very hard to do in writting but will take a shot at it. Think
of a resolver as a device that generates two AC signals 90degrees apart.
An encode may generate square waves that are 90 degrees apart,
generally they have a third channel that generates a zero pulse once a
revolution.

I have to use the term may in describeing an encoder because you may
also have encoders that output an analog sin wave.
