autoCAD dxf is a headache, very often some info missing etc when
imported into other software, and not infrequently, into other
AutoDESK's products. For rapid prototyping, stl format is the
prefered format. Look at software like deskproto

There are also many CAM offerings often mentioned on this list,
including Fred's at

www.imsrv.com (I think)
