I routinly send in my drawings to get quotes, then call and tell them
the price is kinda higher than I expected, followed by the comment
that "Did I put in some spec or feature that added to the price"?
and is there anything I can change to get the price lower ?

once in awhile it comes back with , yeah, that 0.000005" tollerance
is gonna cost. yeah, shoulda been 0.005" op's.

recently on some punched pieces, I had a thin line between bends.
opened it up a few thou and that got me into the 'standard' pricing
and the price dropped 1/3. got me out of 'special'
