Circuit city doesn't have a procedure sign you up, so you could just
walk in and walk out with one... if they had any in stock. At least
for the moment, lack of availability is the catch.

Ordering direct from iopener you incur a $40 shipping charge, but
apparently some made up stories about giving them as gifts or whatever
to avoid starting the service right away. It's been mentioned that
you don't want to power it on while connected to a phone line unless
you plan to use their service.

I suggest anyone thinking of getting one read the discussion on slashdot
(www.slashdot.org) that ran a day or two ago.
