I talked to a Circuit City sales droid this morning. They just sell
the box. You have to call the company up to start the online service
and give a credit card. It's not clear to me yet, but it may call a
toll free number when you plug it in to start your account, solicit
your credit card and determine the local number for future calls.
I'd do it that way.

After all, what good is it if you can't connect to their service? :-)

Seriously, I doubt they will loose that many (on a percentage basis) to
hackers. The potential end user market is much larger. Whether or not
their turnkey approach appeals to consumers remains to be seen.

BTW, there seems to be the reasonable possibility of using ethernet over
USB to communicate with it.

I gotta find me a couple.
