Thanks for the input. The more I look, the more I see/learn. After
realizing the limitations of bench mills and seeing the $5-600 dollar
break required to step-up, I am looking at some floor standing mills.
I am looking at new, I just like the smell. We actually have a used
Bridgeport at the shop that I could probably wrangle, but we replaced
it for a reason. (We got two "lower mileage" units cheap.) My home
shop is too small (who's isnt) and I need something a bit more
compact. At the top of my list now, is the Grizzly G3616 (
http://www.grizzly.com/products/item.cfm?itemnumber=G3616 ). 9 1/2x31
1/2 table, 14" max spindle to table, 15 1/2 TTL x 7 7/8 TTC x 13 knee
x 4 7/8 spindle travel, 2hp, flood cooling, longitudinal power feed,
etc. $2195+ $300frt. I'm dong leg work now for a purchase that is at
least a few months off. And then I can start looking at DRO, CNC,
tooling.... it is a never ending spiral. At least I enjoy it. And I
can tell my wife it all good for business. Enjoy, MIKE
