Hello Group: I hope I'm doing this right: after sitting in the wings for
a couple of weeks, there is finally something at my level to which I can
respond. All you Einstein types can tune out while "Simonho" & I make a
quick exchange.
Simonho: I've a reprint from Nuts & Volts dated Jan '99 which means the
original was published before that. It's titled CCNC a series of CNC
shop equipment built on the cheap. I can say that mechanically they work
fine. Unfortunately the electronics are beyond my abilities. The author
of the series was a Dan Mauch. I hope he is still contributing to the
public and that I can eventually ask him a couple questions. The
articles are specific enough to build either the drill press, the mill,
or the saw, the wire cutter required a little imagination. I've been able
to build working, manual versions as proof of concepts. A-OK!
I don't have access to the WEB, so I can't say for sure that their site
will help you any, but, www.nutsvolts.com is the place to start. Dan
relied on some shareware as a cornerstone and I don't know if it's still
available. I haven't seen it mentioned here since I've followed( at a
distance) this group.
Good luck, Nick
