Thanks
The main reason I did it was to make the videos. They where taken on an old sony digital camera. I am selling the extra motors on ebay and thought a visual might help. It is fun playing with it though. The plan is to make a bigger gantry style mill to play around with. I was running it back and forth at 100 ipm just goofing around. Thats as high as I have tried. The vise is all I have right now that was easy to retrofit. Nice half a day project. The couplings between motor and the lead screws is 3/8 air line and hose clamps. The adaptors are 4X4 mechanical tubing.

They are crappy videos. It is a 1/8 inch mill cutting circles in
piece of plastic. I probably have around .020 in backlash. This
was just an experiment to play with. It has about 5X3 inches of
travel. You might want to right click and download to your computer.
if not you might have to play the video twice in the player as it
might be choppy the first time.
