Re: Angle grinder for high speed bits on a CNC Bridgeport?

I like the idea of an electric grinder as my compressor is small (no
jokes now). Attaching it to the spindle is going to be challanging
as the front of mine is covered by the Z axis stepper stuff. The BP
has a fair amount of space if I lower the table, so I was wondering
about adapting the gadgetry to be attached to the bottom of the
spindle. I can use an R8 collet, but also have an R8 to Erickson 30
quick change adaptor. I have an Erickson 200DA collet holder which
is missing the nut, so I don't mind modifying it to hold a grinder.
I don't think I have enough room to verticle mount a straight die
grinder (and it probably would have a tendancy to flex) which is why
I was looking at using an angle grinder.

Anyone ever do it this way. Any other ideas?

Thanks and regards,
Jeff
