Strictly correct. But, I think what Antonius meant was that the CNC control
has, hidden inside it, additional information that is associated with
numbered
tools. The cutter radius and tool length offsets are pretty analogous
to the
aperture information, that is either used with old Gerber RS-274D or
contained
within the newer Gerber RS-274X files. EMC has this tool table stored as
an ordinary disk file that you can edit outside of EMC, or within its GUI.
I suspect all other PC-based CNC programs that support the radius and length
offsets also have a similar file.
