Dale,
I'll be testing out my new EDM power supply this week or next. It is a 96
volt 10 amp supply with control circuitry for the power Mosfets. It's not
an RC type - this will eat through metal as compared to an RC type.
I'm waiting for larger electrodes as the ones I have now are too small (a
recommendation is 65 amps max per sq in of electrode area) and they blast
away steel about the size of a pen tip with each spark. I'll let you know
how it goes when I'm finished.
Right now I have a unit that is 100 volts and 5 amps - it works great.
Something like that may work for your application - depending on how big
your electrode is. It has outputs for step and direction - just like the
Langlois.
Let me know what size your looking at - this will determine how fast I can
help you out. Also, what kind of finish you're looking for.
