telephone stuff that has Odd numbers of pairs, 25 is very common.
That was why I mentioned the other 2 options.
As to the Gauge, I have a 500' spool of what is probably 18 gauge if not
heavier. it IS a wood spool, and is labeled computer communication
and interconnection cable.

currents of communication signals may not be good, and may be downright bad
at 50 volts and 5 amps.
The main Issue IMHO is the designed in cross induction of signals between
pairs a guy may use for common high current sources and returns.
