You may want to consider the DeskCNC servo kit for the small router.
It includes DC brush motors with heds encoders, servo drivers,
intelligent controller, and software for $699. The software is a
Windows based machine controller, and also includes a very powerful
CAM programming capability, with Gerber and Excellon programming for
pcb trace isolation and drilling. Other CAM functions include
pocketing, contouring, and drilling of DXF files, raster to vector
conversion for carving and engraving, and text engraving. It is
probe capable and can produce a machinable stl file from a probed
surface, or from a point cloud. Then the stl files can be machined
using the endmills or router bits of your choice with the 3D
programming and machining in DeskCNC.
