Hey Dude,
On Monday 13 October 2003 08:15 pm, turbulatordude spake:
whine, and do everything _but_ dance (and move).
and I've had it for some 15 years, I think.
If anything, it's loose.
But, I have checked all the gibs and screw nuts,
and come up with nothing worth reporting about.
In fact, the Z axis, which is notoriously easy to move on
these machines, exhibits the axact same bahaviour as the X & Y.
When I _am_ able to get any kind of decent
movement at all, it only in the 8-12 IPM range.
And even then, after a short while, steps will start disappearing.
I'm somewhat ig'n'ant, as you're aware, but Mariss asked me the
specs, and after relaying them, he asked me if I owned a boat...
<shrug>
I'm willing to take a hit in the name of learning, but I've wasted
some considerable time trying to make these work, and now have
gotten to the point where I *NEED* the mill running, post haste,
and am willing to swallow the motors and purchase new ones.
I have a friend that I promised I would make something for when
the mill was complete, and now he's been waiting on me for some time.
He's been patient, but I want to make good on my word so
that it doesn't cost him some money he doesn't have right now.
Thus, my need to make this run in the next day.
Thanks,
Weyland
