Hi Jeff,
I do this for some lists and I use a shareware product
called "Outlook Message Parser". It takes your outlook express emails
and creates .eml text files from them. I then use Python to extract
the text from the message part which I later use for topic analysis
etc. To add the text to a database eg MySQL would be real easy from
the text files.
You can get the program from here: http://www.mparse.com/

discussion particularly in regards to whether the group should be
hosted on a different service. With that said, there is a GREAT
program to get to manage Yahoogroup messages and allow very efficient
and flexible searching. Take a look at
http://www.personalgroupware.com This program is $15.95 and I feel it
is a bargain at that. If there was enough interest I would be willing
to put a copy of the CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO database with all messaged from
the beginning to date on a server where it could be downloaded this
weekend. While this is a huge file [aprox 50 mb zipped] it is much
faster than getting each message individually using the normal
methods. Let me know off line at CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO-
owner@yahoogroups.com if there are people needing this message
database in the Personal Groupware format.)
