Hello,

No, it's not nuts... Camtech in Canada sold hundreds of machines
which used #25 chain and sprockets instead of leadscrews or
rack/pinion. Many are still in use all over the world...

And the hobby machine Autoroute also use chain drive.

FWIW, newer Cam tech machines use rack/pinion.
