Top of my list would be to win the lottery :-)

Sorry couldn't help that!

It would make some sense to me to have a web-page of nothing but links to other web-pages. I know this has been done to some degree but to my mind it has not gone far enough. It would require managing so that it is not just a mass of links. It could also include down-loadable material in the form of .pdf files including pictures of how those that have done what they do so that those who want to do can copy. If you get my meaning.

I would like to see a lot more of the members of this list making a contribution, even if it is only to let the few who do use this list know of their exsistence.

Must get rid of this soapbox.

Those of us that share our ideas and knowledge, I commend you. Why do others only appear to take, commercial reasons I suppose? Can't we on this list share a little more? There are some on this list that will always help if asked, they know who they are, even if they are thinking of going commercial at a later date.

I wish I had more of an idea of what to do with the electronics bits I keep ordering, if it wasn't for a few people on this list they would just go obselete before I learnt enough to use them.

Wish list proper :-

A PIC based DRO with output that can be put into a computer program, built on a modular princple so that one PIC monitors each axis and I can have as little as one axis or as many as I deem necessary. Probably stackable off a common power supply. This would enable me to DRO every axis of my Bridgeport type miller and give direct positional information to a CNC program with the three or four axis that I am moving at the time.

Regards,

Terry.

I was thinking a great resource for home builts would be a book of
"case histories". I was inspired to do this after reading Joe Martins,
"Tabletop Machining".
Each person would take pictures and do a write up of their
individual projects, then send them to a person who volunteers as the
"editor" who would assemble, staple, bind and redistribute the
compilation. Of course the compilation, binding and stapling would be
done electronically. If you specified a standard format, say Microsoft
Word, it wouldn't be too much trouble to put everyone's section
together and distribute in Adobe format.
The summaries could be as brief as a picture and a paragraph, or
complete with drawings and system specs, pictures of stuff you built,
your dog, your wife, etc. Whatever you sent in would be what was
"published". Contributors would agree that whatever they send can be
considered public domain. The compilation would be distributed for free
over the internet. A hard copy would be a simple matter of printing the
document.
Would people be willing to contribute and get summaries of their
projects done by a deadline?
This is hypothetical, please don't send me anything.
Peace
