DeskCNC works just fine with any of the step and direction drivers.
You just insert the signal wires into the terminals on the controller
board, instead of into the parallel port.

In fact, because of the low signal levels found on many laptop
parallel ports, DeskCNC works better than many parallel port driven
systems (besides other advantages).

It does provide a breakout board function, which is usually needed
for a parallel port system at extra cost.
