Bill,

This is a very large group with people at all stages of the CNC
conversion process. We very much welcome beginners and will try to help
as best we can. But, you will find that MANY of the basics have been
covered in this group time and time again. We try and refer beginners to
the archives as way to help them come up to speed faster and to help
keep traffic on the list to a manageable level.

For anyone that is looking to really search the archives I would highly
recommend the program Personal Groupware. It is free to use for the
first 30 days so even if you don't want to spend the $16 it costs you
can just use it for a month and read and search the group archives. I
have also put together an updated as of a week or so ago archive
database of CCED for this program so you can get all the knowledge of
the group in a single 60 mb or so download. The link to the database is
on the FAQ page near the top. That link will also give you the link to
the viewer program. The FAQ is at http://www.ktmarketing.com/faq.html
and the link you want is listed as "CCED Message Database message 1 -
Nov, 03"
