Hi all, Thanks for all the responses regarding this issue. I changed phone systems and when the servos were on it still knocked it out. I have my PC mounted in the enclosure with the geckos etc. I also have another phone line hooked to the modem on that PC to retrieve programs and CAD drawings via email. When I unhooked that phone line everything was fine. It appears to have been in the phone line all the time. interference must have been coming back through the modem and reaping havoc with all the phone lines. Thanks for the responses. Although they werent the culprit they may help someone else. Oh well, we needed new phones anyway :-)

Are you running a VFD on your spindle? That could be a more likely
source of emi than the servos. Depending on who makes your VFD you
might look into an emi filter for the VFD. I had to fit one recently
due to the VFD noise upsetting the temperature control on a nearby
kiln. My VFD was from Practical Automation and the emi filter cost $95
as I recall. It solved my emi problem completely.
