Howdy Ron;

I don't know what kind of phone you have, but check if it has a germanium diode
in it. A lot of older portable phones used to have these in their power supply
protection circuitry, and with sufficient RF energy in the neighborhood, they'd
start acting like a crystal radio.....:-)
