I've been at this machining thing now for about two years. I still
consider myself new at it. Fortunately there are many fine folks here
and on the other message boards related to this willing to share and
help. I recently learned of the job shop home shop board here on
Yahoo. There is the 7x10 mini lathe group that actually gets into
some interesting discussions related to building machines (lots of OT
stuff there). I recently joined the bridgeport group 'cause I bought
one last week.
I would also check out any groups or internet sites related to
robotics. These people are building interesting machines so the
methods cross over.
