Hello,
The limits for the A3977 are 35VDC, and 2-1/2A per phase. Several
dual stack 34 size steppers FAR in excess of 200 oz. in. will
fit "into" these specs...

P.S. Speed may not be optomised, but with rack/pinion, cable, chain,
or timing belt, this does not factor largely in an acceptable
outcome.
