Hi Jeff,

Guess how I spent my weeekend - checking out the quill oil feed for my
Ser 1 CNC Bridgeport :-)
To get to the oil feed connection you will have to remove the
gearbox/motor assy. Is the head still off the machine? If so it should
be pretty easy to separate the gearbox.

If you undo the side covers on the quill (you had to remove them to
unbolt the head) you will see 4 allen bolts going up into the gearbox.
Undo them and pull the gearbox away from the quill assy. It is on a
spline so you may have to wiggle it a bit. Be a little careful as there
will be a pipe joining the two halves. At the front is the junction
where the pipe fitted in. The pipe probably just pulled out of the
fitting, leaving the olive behind so you should just be able to re fit
the olive and re assemble.

On my machine I ended up removing the motor and dismantling the gearbox
because I didn't know how it all went together. To add insult to injury
the actual fault with mine turned out to be a blocked metering orifice
right next to the pump. I didn't need to take the head apart :-(

If you have any more questions then feel free to ask,

Les
