There are more than 500 members of this list, most hoping to read information regarding CNC, CAM, EDM, DRO. While it is good that we don't all develope tunnel vision, I for one have read enought brick dust. I understand your problem of tracking down earlier postings because suddenly, you have found what was writen about a few months ago, of interest. If the people who post items for sale are asked to do so off-list why should not other subjects not directly related to the subject matter of the list do the same. I have not advocated that all this material never see the postings, just that the few who find it so riveting take it else where after the thread has developed to an extent that all the players know each other.

Regards,

Terry.

If in the beginning of the thread there is only say 2 interested
parties, then do personal e-mail, but if there is more, well then
that shows the group interest. I have gone through lots of
irelevant posts, at the time, only to try and dig them up 6 months
later.

i beg to disagree. I find nothing wrong in questions being asked on any
subject at this posting but to carry it on through countless postings when
the subject of the list is CNC etc.

We all publish our email address on posting so why can't it be taken
off-list.

Regards,

Terry.

Au Contraire my friend. Surely the knowledge as to how to work any
particular material on your machine is just as important as knowing how
to
tap a few keys and wave its cutter about. Granted it may not be on your
current list of interests but who knows what will come along in a week or
two and, if you aren't that far sighted, you always have the delete
button.

discussion
was conducted off list. It has nothing to do with CNC, EDM or DRO.
