Hi Folks,
I guess I've gotten carried away by suggestions about expansion and
contraction, hence the wire and encoder idea. But originally I felt that
since the wood I would be cutting having, been stored in my shop would be
expanded as much as the machine would and if the weather changed they would
both contract about the same. If this were true I could machine parts, store
them, and they would fit an assembly even a month later????
I am a machinist and have use of a complete machine shop so building
out of steel would be no problem except that I am somewhat intrigued by this
rather off the wall idea.
This thread is probably getting off topic and should not be carried
farther.

sister site to the CCED group, as many of the same members are there, for OT
subjects, that are not allowed on the CCED list.
