Hi,
Accuracy wise the resolution of the USDigital scales are very good for the
price if mounted well. BUT, you are thinking of putting them on a lathe. The
Z axis will be fine with a resolution approaching 0.0005" but on the cross
slide you will only get half this resolution because you are machining off
the diameter ie 0.001" in-feed = 0.002" off the diameter. You really need a
scale of greater resolution for the cross slide.
