I bought the plans, primarily for the Wire EDM ideas.
I thought it would be quite easy to adapt the tank to be moved by my
Sherline 2000 mill.
I quizzed the author (not Dan, by the way, but another nice gent in
Europe) about cutting speed. Cuts in 1/8 inch Aluminum take "hours
per inch", using the voltages in the author's design. This wasn't
going to be much use to me.
However, the articles running in HSM or its sister publication, by
Mr. Langlois, describe a different approach which re-uses the wire
(as opposed to single-use) and which apparently cuts MUCH faster.
I'll likely re-open the project when the plans for that one become
available... / mark

Has anybody built the EDM from the plans that Camtronics sells?
http://www.seanet.com/~dmauch/
I'm curious about its capabilities and build cost.
thanks,
Cliff
