I've built the parts for one, but haven't put it together or used it
yet.

The chuck part is just a 5C collet holder that slips in the MT5 taper on
the lathe. I used 2 air cylinders to close the collet via a tube
drawbar through the spindle bore. I'm hoping that the holder stays
tight in the MT5 bore when the collet is opened, ie that the 5C opens
rather than the MT5.

The hardest part is moving the bar and for that I want to use a bar
puller, ie a device that goes on as a tool and pulls the bar to move it.
I've looked at the ones you can buy and they seem very expensive for
what you get.
