my dad just purchased for his shop:

series II bridgeport), and one of the axis doesn't manually turn (I guess it
wouldn't turn via software either).. any idea how hard that would be to fix?
and why is everyone saying servo is better than steppers?
and can the bridgeport I or II , even though it already has that wacky
computer attachment, be hookd up to a normal computer (out of the box) and
use deskcnc, or other software like that?
