Hi gang;

Here's a little something I haven't seen mentioned on this list. When you need
an end of travel indicator/switch for your table, consider resurecting that old
automotive ignition points switch you yarded out of your car, when you last gave
it a tune up. They're sturdy, can be cleaned up a bit with a points file to
give years of low frequency usage, and can be adjusted to give reasonably
accurate repeatability. If you need greater accuracy yet, you can feed the
output to the D input of a flip-flop such as the 7474, or the 4013, and lock it
to whatever timing signal you like. Nothing like doing more with less, and
they're _FREE_ with every tune up. :-)
