Jeff -

D1 has to be able to handle all of the current from the supply to the
drive, which explains why Mariss didn't specify a part# - the choice will
depend on how much current your supply can generate/drive can consume. It
would be overkill to size D1 for a 4-axis, max current, G201 setup if you
then used it on a Xylotex board, for example.
