When a Gecko 201 first powers up it is in an idle state and *not* a 30%
current state ... on the first step pulse it then goes to full power, and a
short while after it drops down to 30% .. the initial state seems to be
close to zero current, and is quite separate from the 30% 'standby' mode ...
