Mastercam is actually a pretty good CAD system; certainly much better
than Autocad.
It has a solid modeller, a far more user friendly interface (although many
still curse it) and fairly powerful surfacing capability.
It does better Coons patches than any other CAD software I've used, and can
create Nurbs blends quite well too.
Autocad is a horror to use unless you were trained on it first: then
everything else seems hard to use.
