IMO, This is exactly the reason for declining participation. Those of us who have built
machines are naturally now using them. The things we typically discuss naturally
move more toward those types of topics.

By ruling the list with an iron fist, the guys who have built machines and who can
really help others go elsewhere. Being a bit more reasonable about the moderation of
the group would probably keep the veterans around.

I don't check the list much anymore because I'm now more into putting my homebuilt
machine to work and I know that anything I post here will be moderated to death.

The DIY list is a group for those building and using homebuilt machines. Using the
machine is a natural progession after building it.

Don't take this the wrong way. I've always thought this could be a great group, but I
think the heavy moderation is a real detraction for a lot of people...Which I think is
the reason that DIY-CNC is doing so well.
