I don't think I would attempt to design, layout and build a servo
motor controller. Because of the closed loop design there is a lot
more to it than just twisting a motor with DC. How small-ish are the
motors? Servos produce more torque for their size than steppers. Do
you have any voltage or current specs?

If these are brushed servo's Fred posted a link for his SV500 cards
that will handle up to 5A motors and they are $65 each on quantities
of 3. I don't think you can "stick" build them for much less than
that even if you work for free.
