Ruan,

I will help you and help you with building your CNC router.

Zero comes in to parts. First in your Cad/Cam program you will need to know
where the 0,0 point is. The 0,0 point is normally at one corner of your
part or in my case I set it in the center of the part.

Next you will clamp down your part on the CNC router table.

Now with your controller (like Mach2) you will position (jog) your router so
that the router bit is at the same X,Y location that your Cad program had
the 0,0 point. Then set your controller DRO to 0,0. Next move the Z axis
down so that the router bit just touches the top of your material. Then set
the Z axis DRO to 0.

The Z part is assuming that you told your Cad/Cam program that the top of
the material was the 0 point in the Cad/Cam program.

At that point you can load your G code program, turn on your router and
proceed to machine your part.
