Oldham couplings have three pieces. One connects to the motor shaft. One
connects to the lead screw. The third is a disk that goes in between to
join the other two. This disk is available in different materials. The
type of material will determine the amount of backlash in the coupling. If
you want zero backlash (and of course you do) you will need to use the
acetel disk.

If properly constructed, Oldham couplings can (should) have zero backlash.
