My understanding is that the BOSS3 did use 1:1, but later machines
(at least by the BOSS 5) used the 2:1 to get finer resolution steps.
To make everything work right, the software would have to be
upgraded to a later revision, which requires swapping out the CPU
card.

If you are planning on using a Gecko or Rutex driver, you may just want
to keep the belts as they are.
