hi all
im just about to build a prototype from scratch and still have some
time (and money) left to optimize a little here and there. as i
understand, piercing seems to be what kills the tips in the long run.
wouldnt it be neat to have the torch attached to some sort of device,
pneumatic, electromagnetic or whatever, that tilts the torch a few
degs, just enough to avoid the splattering getting straight into the
tip and then let the arc-good signal, activate the tilting thing to
straighten up the torch for the proceeding cut...
ive seen some cnc flame torches mounted on a similar device for
making bevel cuts though, so this is maybee just like re-inventing
the wheel.
