Use www.Findchips.com to get the data sheets on it. I believe this chip is
only good for
about 350ma per coil.

Subject: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] the mc3479p ic?
Hi fellow listers,
Question has anyone used this ic in a bipolar stepper drive to drive 5A
loads?
Any pc-board examples out there?
Anyone used this with EMC?
