Air cooling Bosch router bearing

I got tired of burning up lower bearings on my Bosch 1617evs. I
replaced the lower bearing with a SKF 6004ZZC3 metal shielded oil
lubed bearing. When I had the housing apart I drilled a 1/8" hole
through the case just over the top of the bearing. I snaked in some
1/8" plastic oil pressure gauge tubing and glued it in place. The
bottom of the fan assembly has an outer ring that needs to be cut
back about 1/16" to clear the tubing. I hooked my air compressor up
to the end of line.
The resultsÂ…Amazing. I was cutting some corian solid surface
material with a .5 diameter bit for over an hour and pushing it
hard. When I stopped, the shaft and bearing were completely cool
to the touch. So far everything seems to be working fine.
I'll post a followup when the bearing dies and let you know how
long I got out of it.
