My home built 24" x 24X router has interchangeable heads. One is a Dremel and the other is a Roto Zip.
The first Roto Zip (older model) could not handle the long run times and burned out. BUT, the replacement Roto Zip new model RZ1 has been very reliable and I have hundreds of hours run time on it with no problem.
The RZ1 has a chuck instead of a collet. The chuck on mine had a runout of 0.025 making it unusable. I contacted Bosch about this. They sent me a new chuck and picked up the old one no charge. The new chuck is dead on.
I use an external RPM controller.
IMO

You might also want to consider a roto-zip type of tool.
Just a thought
