Those 470Uf low esr caps are very important. I had a gecko without the case
on and under test one day. I noticed one of the components was getting
pretty warm when it shouldn't have. I added the 470uf low esr cap right at
terminals 1 and 2 and it cooled it right down to ambient temperature. There
was no fuse in circuit and the wire was only 14" long as I recall.
