CNC Rotary Tables

What does one do about backlash on CNC rotary tables? Inevitably
there's going to be some backlash to allow correct gear meshing but
say I want to cut a gear where the table is stationary while the cut
is underway. I dont want the thing dancing about due to slop. Are
there any automatic clamping methods available?
Cheers
Peter.
