Subject: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Recommended CAM software?
Hello,
After trying to make a lathe pocket with BobCadCAM for the past three
days I've nearly given up. I've been on their support forums. So, I'm
looking for an alternative, low-cost G-code generating software.
Here is where I'm coming from. I currently have a CNC lathe and a
mill (Wabeco) and I use FlashCut for signal generating, Geckos or the
FC motor driver box (one is on the mill; the other on the lathe).
I do my drawings in AutoCad Lite programs (Actrix or AutoSketch) and
usually export a DXF.
I want some software that will generate G codes that I can run on the
lathe or mill with FlashCut - I am not interested in the drawing
aspect of dual-purpose CAD/CAM programs - all I care about is the CAM
part.
I also want it to be low-cost. Yeah. . right. . now you probably
think I'm crazy.
My uses are pretty basic, too.
Can anybody make some recommendations to me?
Thanks,
Ken Gracey
