Hi Dave:
Mach2 does do threading, inside and out, and Mach3 is even better with
taper and chamfer included in the G76 multipass threading command. It can,
of course also do single pass G32 threading, but the G76 makes it easier
with volume depth passes. Mach3 is going to be the full blown Turn software
version of Mach2 and its coming along nicely with new graphic screens for
modular access to functions. It now has PID controlled spindle speed (PWM
and Step/ frequency) and Peter Homann has relased a great PWM speed control
baord for the VFD spindles out there. There are a few methods of speed
feedback , wizard capability for conversational work, wizards will start to
appear for the Lathe users very shortly, like the threading wizard where you
stipulate the thread you wish and the program will load and cut that thread.
One of our group members is a Lathe wiz and is happily churning out Lathe
code that helps us all. Join in the Mach2 users group and ask any of the
users anything you can't find out about, theres over 1750 members there
these days. Great group of people when it comes to help on how to do things.
Thanks, Just figured I'd clarify..
